November 14th Horse Pick of the Day - Race 6 Golden Gate Fields
Golden Gate Fields, somewhat of the forgotten racetrack in California, can provide sports betting overlays with abandon.
The Fields is a fickle track that requires time before being able to get through the stranglehold of the horsemen that call it home. I believe I’ve a found a nice overlay in the 6th race at The Fields.

Quan’s Girl - - 8/1 online betting odds
Trainer R.B. Hess should have Quan’s Girl ready to pounce after running her in a $16,000 claimer off the bench. Her speed ratings are akin to these and because this will only be her fourth lifetime start she has a chance to really improve while everyone else in this field might be working their way out of contention at this level. I love how Hess has done well with Unusual Heat’s offspring before. She could improve enough to take this at nice overlaid odds.
Two Thirds Victory - - 3/1 online betting odds
Two Thirds Victory might not look like a whole lot on paper but she can definitely run when the mood strikes her. She finished second in her last and there’s a chance that she could bounce, but she might be worth a play because she can save all of the ground from the one hole and this will be the second time that P. Flores has ridden her. I like her chances.
Pretorian Falls - - 8/5 online betting odds
The chalk should have the rest of this field over a barrel, but I’m hesitant to pull the trigger only because she hasn’t won a whole lot of races. Based on speed ratings, she is definitely the best horse in this but she only has one win out of eleven starts. Her connections, trainer Jerry Hollendorfer and jockey Russell Baze, say that there’s no way she goes off higher than 6 to 5 in this. That makes her a play against.
Wagering Strategy
Quan’s Girl should hold her online odds which mean a win and place bet makes a lot of sense. I will also use in an exacta and trifecta box with Two Thirds Victory and Pretorian Falls.
