Cielo Song is going second time for trainer Gary Contessa. Contessa should have a fantastic Belmont fall meet after struggling at Belmont in the spring and doing okay at Saratoga. This son of Conquistador Cielo has finished second in three straight races. From his outside post, he should be able to track the speed and then make a move around the far turn. He figures as a nice key horse in all exotic bets.

Coyoteshighestcall - - 4/1 fair online betting odds

The speed of this race could find himself loose on the lead. If that happens, then I doubt anybody runs this son of Regal Humor down. Coyote ran very well in his last, a 1 1/8th mile race at Canterbury Park. Dropping into this 7 furlong affair should be to his liking.

Clay County - - 6/1 fair online betting odds

This speedster has the most upside as he’s going off the claim first time for trainer David Jacobsen. I really like the fact that he broke his maiden at first asking and then finished second in a $25,000 claiming race in his second start. Jacobsen grabbed him in that one and now puts him in a race where he can’t get claimed but where a nice paycheck could be won. He could be the real deal.

Wagering Strategy

Cielo Song appears to be the class of this field. If the online wagering odds fall at 3 to 1 or higher, then win and place online bets make a lot of sense. In any case, Cielo Song, Clay County and Coyoteshighestcall should make for nice exacta and trifecta boxes.
