At the Gate - Horse Racing Featured Race from Aqueduct

One of the worst looking spills we have seen in quite some time occurred in the second race on Wednesday at Aqueduct, and miraculously all of the jockeys appeared to escape serious injury.
Private Details, with Eddie Castro aboard, broke down heading to the quarter pole, starting a chain reaction, with four horses behind her unable to miss the melee, sending a total of five jockeys to the dirt.
Four of the jockeys walked away from the incident, with Castro sent to the hospital, with early reports looking positive.
The Daily Racing Form described Castro as “body slam sore” and he was released form the hospital later in the day.
Two of the jockeys that hit the dirt, leading rider Ramon Dominguez and apprentice jockey Joseph Berrios rode the rest of their mounts on the day.
Victor Santiago and Rosie Napravnik took off the remainder of the card with minor injuries.
Private Details broke her left front cannon bone and was euthanized. The three-year-old filly was trained by John Terranova.
Only two horses crossed the wire. The race was won by Southern Oaks.
Today's Featured Race of the Day from Aqueduct:
AQU Race 8 OClm $25,000N2X (3:49 et)
#3 Typhoon Tycoon 10/1
#7 Stopbluffing 6/1
#4 Freddy the Cap 4/1
#9 Leap Day 5/2
Analysis: #3 Typhoon Tycoon stalked the early pace from the inside and came up short in the stretch in a fifth place finish, catching an inner surface that was playing to speed. Two back this gelding made a good late run and came up just a nose shy of winning at this level at 51/1. The regression off the career top last out was not much of a surprise and if he bounces back he can be in the mix here at a decent price.
#7 Stopbluffing exits the same race as our top pick and he was wide and made a mild late run to finish fifth. Three of his four career wins have come on the inner and he owns back numbers that are a good fit including a win three back against $50K starter allowance foes.
