Breeders’ Cup Ultra Pick Six - Races 4 Through 9

Bookmark and Share by D.S. Williamson

The Pick Six is a very difficult race to hit. In fact, it’s almost impossible. Hitting the Breeders’ Cup Ultra Pick 6 is even tougher as it appears that going less than three deep in any race will be impossible to do.

Of course, no online betting fan in his right mind can do that. I mean, that would cost a single online wagering fan $31,250. I doubt any syndicate would consider it either.

So, online racebook fans have to make hard decisions.

Let’s get to it!

Race 4 - - Breeders’ Cup Mile

We’ll stick with the chalk in this and go three deep with Goldikova (3/1), Daytona (6/1) and Whatsthescript (4/1).

Race 5 - - Breeders’ Cup Juvenile

This is our first single, Square Eddie. He’s actually the best horse to single in the entire Pick 6 because he is proven over synthetic and has the right style, closing from about five lengths off, in this. I love Square Eddie.

Race 6 - - Breeders’ Cup Juvenile

It’s time to take another stand and go only two deep in this leg. That would be Westphalia (5/1) and Skipadate (10/1). Westphalia is close to being a single in the Pick Six because we can’t go to deep in every leg. But I really like Skipadate in this. He’s a tough son of a gun.

Race 7 - - Breeders’ Cup Sprint

The second single in our Pick Six is the ultra-fast Fatal Bullet. It’s true that the closers could do very well on the Pro-Ride surface, but Fatal Bullets gets the perfect set-up, breaking from the 9 hole and able to track Fabulous Strike before taking over at the turn. He’s the second single at 6 to 1.

Race 8 - - Breeders’ Cup Turf

We can afford to go three deep in here. So, let’s do it! How about Red Rocks (5/1), Soldier of Fortune (7/2) and Winchester (15/1)?

Race 9 - - Breeders’ Cup Classic

We finally arrive to the hardest decision of the Pick Six sequence. We have to leave Curlin out but we can afford two horses in this. Let’s use Henrythenavigator (10/1) and Fairbanks (10/1). Like I wrote in my late Pick Four write-up, Fairbanks is the lone speed and Henrythenavigator is one of the classiest horses in this.

Total investment for a $2 Pick Six = $72

Good Luck!
