Another Tuesday means another terrific betting race for online racebook fans at Mountaineer Park!

Sports betting fans need to do themselves a favor and pay attention to this West Virginia track where the fields are almost always full, no matter the weather, and the horseman and horseplayers are always smiling. Hmm…it might have something to do with the fact that Mountaineer allows casino players to hang out in their main building.

In any case, Tuesday’s Horse Pick of the Day is a definite overlay! We will try to beat the 7/5 online sportsbook horse bet chalk in this race!

Susanne’s Honor - - 7/2 online betting odds

Two terrific back to back races at the $5,000 level means that Susanne’s Honor is ready for the big prize. The horse is 5-4-2 at Mountaineer out of 15 lifetime starts. All but one of those starts was at this 6 furlong distance, busted a maintenance work on Dec. 18th and trainer Jay Bernardini is winning at 19% at Mountaineer with over 200 starters saddles. That’s a good percentage for that many starters. Susanne’s Honor looks like the one to beat at very fair online odds because of the chalk.

Sefapiano’s Home - - 8/1 online betting odds

This straight closer has finished second twice in its last three races going 5 ½ furlongs. I don’t believe that the extra furlong will hurt it. Trained by 23% winner Brenda Hill and ridden by Jockey S. Spieth, Sefapiano’s Home will need a hot pace in which to run into, but it should get it. The horse has 2 wins out of 3 starts at 6 furlongs and 4 wins out of 11 starts at Mountaineer. Sefapiano is a major player in this.

Lexington Wind - - 12/1 online betting odds

Just won at the $5,000 n4L level which means this is a slight step up in class but the speed rating was as good as anything that any other horse has thrown in its lifetime. Gets the inside draw which means some luck will be needed for Wind to get through, but it won’t have to go wide and jockey Ganpath had this fella closer to the pace in its last. I like him at huge online wagering odds.

Wagering Strategy

I’m going with Susanne’s Honor to win and place. I will use in an exacta and trifecta box with Lexington Wind and Sefapiano’s Home.
