November 12th Horse Pick of the Day - Hollywood Park Race 7
Hollywood Park resumes racing this Wednesday with the weather in SoCal still being cold. According to the SoCal weathermen, we’re supposed to hit 90 degrees either on Friday or Saturday.
For sports betting fans, understanding the temperature on certain days at the track can have a decided affect on how that track plays. The cushion track at Hollywood Park is usually faster on hot days and slower on days like Wednesday, where there’s a slight, very slight, chill in the air.

Obrigado - - 4/1 online betting odds
Obrigado will be trying an allowance for the first time in a while. He’s been running in Grade II and Grade I races in his last three. He hasn’t found much success but this level should be much, much easier for him. He will be able to make a run from the one hole and it’s about time he picked up a paycheck. I see him winning this race easily.
Dilemma - - 2/1 online betting odds
This presser out of Grand Slam retains Garrett Gomez which is enough for any online betting fan to consider an online bet on him. He’s definitely a strong horse in this and should go off the favorite. Unlike Obrigado, he won’t have to stalk or close and instead can stick with Lang Field and run that one down. I don’t like his online odds but other than that, he’s a serious contender.
Runaway Dancer - - 10/1 online betting odds
Like Obrigado, this old pro will be trying allowance company for the first time in a long time. He skipped the entire Oak Tree meet and therefore comes into this fresh. That’s the good news. The bad news is that this might just be a prep for a minor stakes race down the line. Either way, he’s got enough class to win this at huge overlaid odds.
Wagering Strategy
I like Obrigado to win and place. I also believe a small exacta box with Runaway Dancer, Dilemma and Obrigado is the way to go. A larger exacta box with just Dilemma and Obrigado makes sense as well. I will bypass the trifecta wager in this horse race betting.
