Hollywood Park resumes racing this Wednesday with an allowance race on the turf as their highlight.

Yes, I’ve just chosen the chalk as the overlay online bet in this race. Why? Because sometimes a horse appears to be so much better than her competition that I can’t do anything but try to take the money and run. Kyniska is running out of the Bobby Frankel barn for the first time after gaining some experience in Europe. From a class stand point she should have these over a barrel.

Mark Set Go - - 4/1 online betting odds

Mark Set Go should have no shot against Kyniska but if there is a filly or mare capable of doing something in this race against Kyniska it has to be Mark Set Go. She’s coming off of a freshening which is a good thing in this case and there’ no doubting her ability to run. It’s just that she doesn’t like to win very often. That could be her downfall.

Tripped the Light - - 5/2 morning line

Because she comes out of the Jerry Hollendorfer barn and because she is ridden by Rafael Bejarano, there’s no telling what sort of online horse betting odds we are likely to get on Tripped the Light. My hope is that he goes off the favorite which would definitely make Kyniska the overlay in this. Tripped the Light lost by a nose in her last. She could be due for a victory today.

Wagering Strategy

I have enough faith in Kyniska to put money on her to win. I won’t put money on her to place. I will also use her as the key horse in an exacta over Mark Set Go and Tripped the Light. Because the online odds figure to be too low, I won’t bother reversing.
