Why Dusty Trail? Why not? Okay, the truth about this son of Trail City is that he’s run absolutely horribly in his last two races. He lost by 8 ¼ lengths in his last race and 5 ¼ lengths two races back. The horse is definitely in terrible form, but I do suspect that form to turn around. First, he gets Joel Rosario who knows the Hollywood turf course like the back of his hand. Second, he just busted a terrific work on the Hollywood cushion track seven days ago. Dusty Trail has a shot at huge online betting odds.

Time’s Gone By - - 5/2 online betting odds

This 1.9 million dollar son out of Giant’s Causeway will be trying two new things in this race. First, he will be going two turns for the first time in his career. Second, he will be going on the turf first time. There are a lot of things against him, but trainer Richard Mandella knows that he’s got a potential champion on his hands. So, finding him in this spot isn’t a surprise.

Victor’s Cry - - 3/1 online betting odds

Like Time’s Gone By, Victor’s Cry will be trying turf for the first time. It shouldn’t be an issue as he’s out of Street Cry who had a number of contenders in this past weekend’s Breeders’ Cup. Victor’s Cry could easily win this but the online odds tell me that I can’t use him as the key horse.

Wagering Strategy

Dusty Trail should be going off at higher odds than the 15 to 1 he’s listed at. That means he’s an excellent online bet to win and place. I will also use in exacta and trifecta boxes with Victor’s Cry and Time’s Gone By.
