Sunday Morning Horse Pick of the Day - Del Mar Race 7

Race 7 at online racebook fans with an opportunity to make a nice horse bet score on some second tier turf horses. For horse betting fans, it doesn’t get any better than that at Del Mar where the Polytrack has caused some online wagering fans to struggle padding their bank rolls.

Dawn Before Dawn - - 10/1 morning line

This speedy miss will go off the bench for trainer John Sadler. She has all of the ability in the world and should be right off the pace if not on the lead. I love her in this spot as there doesn’t appear to be a whole of speed in this race. Jockey Joel Rosario could nurse nice, slow fractions out of this gal. If he does, then forget it. She’s the horse bet of the day.

Danseuse Volante - - 6/1 morning line

This UK import goes first time for SoCal trainer Mike Mitchell. Mitchell does very well with horses first time and I expect this gal’s class to show up big time on the Del Mar lawn. She will be stretching out from the 7 furlong distance but with Rafael Bejarano taking the call, you know that she’s got a huge chance in this race.

Sweeter Still - - 2/1 morning line

Garrett Gomez and Jeff Mullins mean that this gal won’t be hurting in the connections department! But she’s the morning line chalk and those connections also means that she goes off at much less than the 2/1 morning line odds. I expect her online wagering odds when the gates open to be somewhere around 7 or 8 to 5. In this field, that makes her an underlay. I’m going to have to pass for a win horse bet but I have to use her in any online exotic horse bets.

Wagering Strategy

I’m going to bet Dawn Before Dawn to win, place and show if the online odds stay at 10 to 1 or go higher. If the online odds end up less than 10 to 1, I will bet Dawn Before Dawn to simply win and place. I will also use Dawn Before Dawn in an exacta and trifecta box with Sweeter Still and Danseuse Volante.
