Preakness Preview - The Plot Thickens
by Corey E

Preakness betting gets underway on the BetUS sportsbook. After arguably the greatest underdog performance of all-time, Mine that Bird will be looking for the second notch in its triple crown belt, so to speak. Those who bet on Mine that Bird on horse racing lines turned out to be quite lucky, capitalizing on nearly 50-1 odds to put a significant amount of money in their sports betting accounts.
The good news is that Mine that Bird hasn’t swung to being a clear-cut favorite, and sits at +375 on Preakness odds. How can you say no to betting on a horse that is arguably the best in the business at this very moment?
However, arguably, the hottest horse right now, and certainly the most popular for those looking to bet on hose racing is Rachel Alexandra. The lone filly in the Preakness Stakes betting field absolutely demolished her opponents in the Kentucky Oaks, which took place a day before Mine That Bird’s massive upset at the Derby. Thanks to that outstanding performance, which saw her win by more than 20 lengths, she is the favorite on this year’s Preakness Stakes lines. What’s interesting is that the man who led Mine that Bird to victory at the Derby will now be switching saddles to Alexandra—Calvin Borel. This will raise the ultimate question for those betting on horses this weekend—is it the jockey, or the horse who truly makes the difference in these huge races?
Underdogs in this race include Pioneer of the Hills, who enjoyed a marvelous 2006-2007 campaign, and finished in second at the Derby. He will be looking for redemption in this race, and one can only assume that his jockey will also be extra motivated to perform at the Preakness Stakes.
For an even bigger underdog, perhaps take a look at BetUS sportsbook odds.
