We’ve got only five days until the sports betting customer service team is going to be hard at work! Let’s lighten their load a bit by getting our deposits in early.
Let’s get to today’s pick!
Race 9
$16,000 Handicap Stakes
1 1/8th miles on the turf
Kayla’s Smile - - morning line 4/1
I love the way this 6-year old mare took to the Pimlico Turf Course in her last race. She was nothing but professional, hanging behind the speed and then making a very decisive run in the stretch. She actually pulled away to win by two lengths. She was also running in high-priced handicap races before her last. That means that she’s got these over a barrel class-wise. Based on speed ratings, she’s not as good as the two I pick to finish second and third respectively, but that’s okay because as you will read those two are up against it in this race from a pace perspective.
Allnightdance - - morning line 5/2
Allnightdance should go off the favorite off her last few efforts. She’s the fastest horse in this race and there’s no reason for her not to be able to get a lead in the stretch and then draw off, right? Well, there is other speed and Allnightdance will have to work hard to get into good position from that 8 hole. She has the class, however, and is the most likely winner of this race. Expect underlaid odds, though.
Star Snuck - - morning line 6/1
Nobody is in better form in this race then this daughter of Snuck In. Unfortunately, she comes out of the 10 hole which is going to make her chances of getting the lead even worse then Allnightdance. Those two, in fact, have a great chance of running each other into the ground. But, more than likely, either Star Snuck or Allnightdance will finish in the top two. Let’s hope it’s this girl who would provide a much nicer exacta pay-out.
Wagering Strategy
I’ll play Kayla’s Smile to win and place and put into an trifecta as I do believe that either Allnightdance or Star Snuck won’t hang on for the place.
