Betting line time

Dear Bookie:
When does the betting line lock, or does it? I am used to having a set line. And how does the payout for parlays work? For example, if you bet $5 on 5 teams, you win $100, and if you bet more like $300 on 8 teams, you could actually win $30,000. Is this correct or am I missing something?

The line will only lock once you bet it. The moment you accept the play into the system you will keep that line regardless of how many times it changes after. Getting the lines from a agent over the phone does not guarantee you will get that line if you do not bet it during the call.
For parlays, there are fixed odds for payout, ONLY if your picks are football spreads at 110 to make 100. The moment you pick a money line or a baseball line, the structure of the payout changes depending on that specific line that you took. The payouts for Football spreads are as follows: 2 teams pays 13 to 5, 3 teams pays 6 to 1, 4 teams pays 11 to 1, 5 teams pays 20 to 1, 6 teams pays 40 to 1, 7 teams pays 70 to 1 and 8 teams pays 100 to 1.
